Lost Your Remote Control
If you have lost your remote control and need to replace it, you can do so by going to Englaon Remote Controls and selecting the Remote control that suits your TV.
Troubleshooting Your Remote Control
Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try if you are having problems with your Android TV remote control:
- Replace the batteries in the remote and make sure they are inserted correctly.
- Check the connection between the remote and the TV. If your remote uses Bluetooth, you may need to pair it again by pressing a button combination on the remote. If your remote uses IR, you may need to point it directly at the TV and avoid any obstructions.
- Check to see if the infrared is working on the remote.
Try pointing the remote closer to the TV and pressing any button on the remote to test if this has resolved the issue. Here’s a simple test to check if your remote control is sending infrared signals: Use any mobile phone camera and point your TV remote control under the camera lens. Now press any key on the remote control. If your remote is working, you should see the remote control infrared sender flashing. - Reset the remote by removing the batteries and pressing the power button for three seconds. Then reinsert the batteries and try again.
- Restart the TV by unplugging the power cord for 60 seconds (or 2 minutes for Android TVs) and plugging it back in.
- Uninstall and reinstall the Android TV remote app on your phone if you are using it to control your TV.
- Use third-party remote apps from the Google Play Store that are compatible with Android TV.
- Uninstall Android TV remote services updates from Settings (gear icon)>Apps>See all apps>Show system apps>Android TV Remote Service>Uninstall updates.
- Install the Google TV app on your phone and use it to control your TV (Use your phone as the remote for your Englaon Android-TV).
- Perform a TV software update from Settings (gear icon)>Device Preferences>About>Check for updates.
- Perform a factory reset from Settings (gear icon)>Device Preferences>About>Factory reset. This will erase all your data and settings, so make sure to back up anything important before doing this.
